I've got a basic line on my grandfather from the Oregon death index (thanks everyone). Jackson F Butler, died apr7, 1946, Douglas County. I received a message saying I might be able to get an obit from the Roseburg newspaper. Does anyone know how I would go about doing something like that? 1 - request someone at the newspaper to look it up for me 2 - request a local genealogy volunteer to look it up for me 3 - request microfilm from the newspaper on library loan 4 - pay someone to look it up. 5 - ? Sure, go to the on-line telephone directories, for Roseburg Oregon, and see who the newspaper is, and call them up. (do a yellow pages lookup.) --- Mark B <mr_mark66@hotmail.com> wrote: > I've got a basic line on my grandfather from the > Oregon death index (thanks > everyone). > > Jackson F Butler, died apr7, 1946, Douglas County. > > I received a message saying I might be able to get > an obit from the Roseburg > newspaper. > > Does anyone know how I would go about doing > something like that? > > 1 - request someone at the newspaper to look it up > for me > 2 - request a local genealogy volunteer to look it > up for me > 3 - request microfilm from the newspaper on library > loan > 4 - pay someone to look it up. > 5 - ? > > Mark Butler > > > _________________________________________________________________ > Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at > http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp > > > ==== OREGON Mailing List ==== > Welcome to the OREGON LIST > To Search the OREGON-L or leave the lists use this > link to the Oregon-L > web site > http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/usa/OR/misc.html > > ============================== > Visit Ancestry.com for a FREE 14-Day Trial and enjoy > access to the #1 > Source for Family History Online.
