Surnames: Enes, Arntson, Aas, Ouellette, Sprouse, Andreasen, Killett, Havig, Carlson Mabel Leona Enes, 89, a resident of Milwaukie (Oregon) and formerly of The Dalles, died at care center in Milwaukie on Monday, December 24, 2001. She was born June 28, 1912, in Jackson, Minnesota, the youngest of three children to Ole Karenius and Grace Marie (Arntson) Aas. She grew up and graduated from high school in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. On March 22, 1936, she married Ernest Melvin Enes in Pequot Lakes. They moved to The Dalles in 1940, then moved to Milwaukie in 1960. She was a homemaker, member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading, hand sewing, knitting, crocheting and her family especially the grand and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Maynard Ernest Enes and his wife, Ann, Kelso, Washington; her daughter, Karen Ouellette and her husband, Dirk, Milwaukie; seven grandchildren, Christina Sprouse, Alicia and Brynan Enes, Shannon Andreasen, Melissa Ouellette and Jess and Jennifer Killett; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Joseph Enes, Kaelyn Grace Carlson and Tatum Christina Louise Sprouse. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, on November 27, 1985, two brothers, Orville and Lester Aas and sister, Gladys Havig. Viewing visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 28, at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home. Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 10th & Union streets, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, with Pastor Dorthy Nielsen officiating.
