Hello list, I usually just post genealogy info, but wanted to see if anyone might recognize someone matching this description - as I am searching for information on my birthfather. I am looking for my birthfather, in my adoption file it says he would have been 32 yrs old in 1955 (when I was born); he was probably living in the Newport, OR area as he had "relations" with my birthmother who was 22 at the time. She went by the nickname of "Dot", and "Stormy" and worked at least part-time as a bartender. She was seperated from her husband who was in the military, and she had 2 small children at home when I was born. My files say birthfather was 32, in good health, white but also it states that he was to a "small degree" part American Indian. I am trying to find out what tribe his ancestors were from for my own peace of mind and genealogy purposes. I have absolutely no intention of disrupting anyone's life. This is for my own personal information only. If anyone has information on anyone matching this desciption, or if you have any suggestions, I'd be very grateful. Thankyou. ..Marcy

It's unlikely you would find any info here. But, you've got a good background of whom your looking for. I'd put your query in at "adoptionregistery.com", and see if anything transpires. Have you tried getting the records from the County seat where this happened , and if they sent them to another office one might be the Oregon State Archives , either way you will have to go in person to prove who you are now . Many records are being removed from the net since the Towers . So even proof of who you are is even stressed more now. You should call the Courthouse where it happened and find out where whose records are stored then go there.
