    1. [OREGON] Funeral home records/Help please
    2. Marianne
    3. Dear listers, Does anyone know who now has the old records for "Dunning and Dunning" (1903) and "Dunning and Mc Entee", or simply "Dunning" funeral homes from the turn of the century? Or, if any of you live locally and can call around I would really appreciate it. I live in CO and the long distance is really expensive. Perhaps someone knows this info already. I have a great Grandmother who died with no trace! No death cert, no coroner's record, no obit and no substantial cemetery records (except date of burial (Lone fir Cem), so my last shot to find out why she died and what date she died is by funeral records. Unless I am missing another idea?? Can anyone help or have any other ideas for me out there? Name: Mrs. Hannah Matilda (Norcross) SLATER burial date: April 17, 1901 at Lone Fir Cemetery (date of death should be a few days before this date approx.) age: 35, Portland OR Funeral home: Dunning Funeral home. If anyone can help, I'd be happy to help offset some costs involved- this is my brick wall, and I really want this solved once and for all! Thank you!! Marianne S. Monagle monagle@cncdsl.com

    3. Marianne: I just so happens that I compiled a list of all known funeral homes and morticians from as far back as I could find to the present. I haven't updated it for a couple of years, however I can tell you that Dunning and McEntee records are now with Hennessey, Goetsch & McGee. There phone number is 503.221.1292. I guess that I should have put this list on my web site also. Hope this helps. 1. [OREGON] IOOF Cemeteries
    2. Good morning, Does IOOF have a record of each of their cemeteries someplace? Like a central office? The IOOF cemetery at Coburg doesn't have a record that I can find and was told that the hall with the records had burned. I am hoping that someone had those records at home or something. Has anyone visited that cemetery and viewed all the children burials that are by themselves? There must have been a disease go through the area where people lost most of their children, as many as 5 little gravestones all together with the same last name, so sad. I would really like to get some history on this cemetery, my great aunt, uncle and great grandmother are buied there. I believe that there is another small member buried there but couldn't find the grave. Jacqueline jacroing67@aol.com

    3. Hi, just tried to send a file - it would not 'go' so will try again later, I tried several times, but having trouble with the server here today. I took the info off the card file that the cemetery has, but most did not have dates - they have another set and I will try to update after I have finished listing them. They do not let that set out of their sight - don't know how I am going to do that, but somehow I will get dates. (If I have to go up there and sit and copy them by hand) Some on these cards are the date of burial, not date of death. If I know that, I will show it. Sometimes it does not say which it is. I have the cemetery records available for the rest of the county - but since they are on-line here, I see no need to send them. Marlene --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. 3. I agree with David here, the codes I use for Steel blue come up and scramble badly on some browsers, I would not have believed it, but I have a few extra systems to install things here and found out first hand . One other thing we all agreed on once in writing genealogy sites was to keep them in simple html 4.0 or similar since a great majority of genealogy people dont buy new systems just because the rest of the world pass's them up and simple websites are all they can handle I have not tried CSS and in I.E. 5.5 I have no idea if I am having a problem. Send me the link so I can try it too. Lets keep genealogy pages simple l;-) Dan ----- Original Message ----- From: "W David Samuelsen" <dsam@sampubco.com> To: <OREGON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, January 18, 2002 6:23 PM Subject: Re: [OREGON] changed my mind, hahah > CSS has nothing to do with this. 3. For anyone who did not receive my previous message, I can look up death certificates in Ohio for Dec 1908-1944. There are also some earlier records for certain counties. The Ohio Historical Society has a great website at www.ohiohistory.org. There is an index of deaths from 1913-1937. I can get copies for $1 each if you know the dates of death. 1. [OREGON] Oregon Norcross families
    2. Marianne
    3. Hi, Does anyone know much of the Norcross's of OR? I have two possible related NORCROSS families of OR; Trying to find info on " Ed M. NORCROSS" bp. OR wife: Louise (maiden name unk) bp. Mass. This couple had child Male on 16 Aug 1892 in Portland OR. This family is not found in the 1895 Multnomah Co- OR state census; 1900 Fed OR Where did they come from and where did they go? No death records in the death index (state) matches these names either. I think Ed M. just might be a son of L.M. (Leonard Marcellus) Norcross. (This is the same L.M. that is the 1849'er in CA gold rush, 1850 pioneer of OR, bp in 1825 Kennebec Co, maine). I think this since I have L.M Norcross in Grants pass Pct of Jackson co, OR in 1880 census with a son Eddy/Eddie M. age 9, so the lad's Birth date would be abt 1871. Therefore he could of been married and had the son mentioned in the first paragraph. I have NO other info to link the two...Any help out there? THANKS Marianne S. Monagle monagle@cncdsl.com

Please send people a thank-you. That is their only reward and is what keeps them going. Sincerely, Janine Bork

    3. David, Excuse me, but I am not stupid. If you were to right click and choose 'View Source' you would have seen that the colors were Silver and White. Your browser must be an older version of Netscape if it is unable to comprehend complex scripts such as CSS, which is what I wrote that page with. I have removed the CSS Scripting and the page is now only HTML. Thank you to everyone else for your positive and polite replies! :) -Katie penelope126@hotmail.com _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com

    3. CSS has nothing to do with this. It is your use of certain HEX codes for colors. What may works for IE may not works for Netscape and vice versa. The codes for Silver is too close to white. My Netscape does work fine with CSS scripts, just that they're annoying. And I wonder why first half of Sacred Heart Cemetery is visible while the last half isn't??
