I want to thank everyone who responded to my recent post trying to locate the death dates for Margurette O. Frakes Carsner and Warren M. Carsner (sometimes spelled Casner). Several responses mentioned the Warren M. Carsner who died in Portland. I guess I should have mentioned that I had already obtained a copy of his death certificate & obit, and he is not the one for whom I am looking. The Warren Carsner who died in Portland was born in MI and his brothers and sisters don't match any of the brothers and sisters of my Warren M. Carsner. Sometimes you can't see the forrest for the trees. I had often seen the Margaret Carsner who died 4-3-1939 in Portland on the Oregon index - just never put it together that Margurette could be Margaret. I will follow through and get a copy of that one to see if it is her. Again thanks to everyone who responded. I have always said the Oregon list is one of the best! Liz Freeman In OK!
There are 6 William H. Gibsons on the 1920 census, and several more William Gibsons. We need to know more specifics of whom you seek, such as state of birth or who lived with him. Many people have the same names. Jim in Portland --- Nicolle <nicolle@csusa.net> wrote: > This might be a bit out of line. Robert Kruger, Portland, district director of the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization service, said notices of that denial were mailed this week to 72 adults and seven children among the 280 followers of the guru that settled on a 60,000 acre ranch in central Oregon. A special meeting of the Antelope City Council is scheduled for tonight to discuss litigation involving the town's land use laws, the town's call for an April 15 election to dissolve the city charter and other matters. Peggy Miller of Sherman scored 13, Phyllis Goree of Goldendale scored and Dona Taylor of Lyle each scored 11 and Barbara Gregory and Irene Mead each of The Dalles scored eight apiece, the high scorers for each team. Liz, I checked the Oregon Death Index at Ancestry.com and found a few things that might work for you, but that you may have already seen. Is this the Margurette you're seeking? Name: Carsner, Margaret County: Portland Death Date: 03 Apr 1939 Certificate: 1154 You also mentioned Wheeler County, so I did not know if the following was in your line or not: Name: Carsner, Willa County: Wheeler Death Date: 16 Jan 1937 Certificate: 2 Spouse: Robert There were two Carsners who were living in Grant County when they died: Name: Carsner, Tennessee County: Grant Death Date: 23 Mar 1926 Certificate: 11 ----------------------------------- Name: Carsner, Walter Scott County: Grant Death Date: 04 Mar 1923 Certificate: 12 ----------------------------------- It's very easy and inexpensive to get death certificates over 50 years old. They are 25 cents each plus postage from the state archives, can be ordered via e-mail at reference.archives@state.or.us and they usually arrive in about a week, billing you when you get the certificates. You can order two at a time. Elizabeth in Jackson County, Oregon, USA

I am searching for the death date/place of Thornton Reeves who was married to Minerva Evaline Carsner in Grant County. He dies between 1910 and 1920 and is believed to have died in Grant County. They are on the 1910 Crook County census. She is shown on the 1920 census as a widow in Grant County living with one of her sons. Both her sons died in Grant County. Any information on the death date/place of Thornton Reeves will be greatly appreciated. Liz Freeman In OK!
I am looking for the marriage date for Laura Rebecca Olney Carsner to Isaac L. Ward. Laura was married first to Alonza John Carsner. He died 6-30-1890 in Grant County. Laura then married Isaac Ward. The place of their marriage is unknown but believed to have been in Grant County. It is estimated Laura married Isaac sometime between 6-30-1890 and 2-1895, based on the death of her first husband and the birth of her first child with Isaac. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Liz Freeman In OK!

I am researching Effie Catherine Leach born March 21, 1878 in Salem, Columbiana Co., OH. She was the sister of William Edgar Leach. I know that W. E. Leach came to La Grande, Union Co., OR about 1896 and married Pearl Daphne Mills there. I believe his sister Effie came with him. Later the Leach's had 7 children at La Grande and later moved to Portland, OR. Pearl and W. E. Leach left Portland by 1922, however I believe that Effie stayed and was married there. Effie married a Mr. Brierly and died in Portland Sept. 1974. If there is anyone researching the Brierly name in Oregon, please write to me. Thanks, Lillian Kathleen Martin.

This might be a bit out of line. I would appreciate a look-up in the 1920 Oregon census for William H. Gibson or William Gibson. Unfortunately I don't have the city. Just received this information today from his brother's obit that William was in Oregon. Any help is greatly appreciated. i was hoping someone might have a CD that they could check. Thanks so much.
