I know that our relative, Oliver Perry Beagle, fought in the Rogue Indian Wars (skirmishes?). He died at the Roseburg Old Soldiers Veterans Home and is buried there, so it was considered Military Service, even if it was on again and off again for a few months at a time. Thanks again. Karen Beagle
I know the Multnomah County Library ordered the 1930 Census for Oregon but don't know if it is in yet. You can e-mail them at their web site http://www.multcolib.org/ or phone is 503-988-5123. Hi, At this moment, the only place in the area with the full 1930 census is the Regional branch of the National Archives in Seattle. It is easy to reach, with plenty of free parking. This week we have seen many eager researchers from the Portland/Vancouver area, as well as southern Oregon, Canada, Idaho and Montana. There is a large staff of trained and knowledgeable volunteers to help you. Despite earlier dire predictions, patrons are finding their people, and more quickly than expected. Try to pinpoint the location (a street address if possible) before you come, it makes it much easier. Good luck, Kevin Fraley NARA volunteer ----- Original Message ----- From: <glray@attbi.com> To: <OREGON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, April 04, 2002 1:06 PM Subject: [OREGON] 1930 census: Oregon > Does anybody know where I can access the 1930 census? I agree. This list isn't near as active as many of them and because of this, a simple question shouldn't be made an issue. My 2 cents..take it or leave it. Being helpful, no matter how simple, is what it is all about. (or should be) "AQ TAG CO." wrote: > WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL? > > She asked, took about 5 seconds to answer.
