Dear Earline , It is with deep regret that you are no longer transcribing online. I am so sorry that someone was this cruel to you. I for one deeply appreciated all your hard efforts and work. This was no doubt something you put your heart into. I am wondering if you have anything on the following people , William Palmer , Robert Palmer , or George Houghton. If it would be easier for you too answer offline I surely understand. Whatever is easiest and best for you. I just thank you for your time and effort . Sincerely , Candi DeGrande [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- From: "Earline Wasser" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, April 06, 2005 5:52 AM Subject: [OREGON] No longer transcribing > It is with deep regret that I announce I will no longer be transcribing > articles. Hello, My grandmother's father was Eugene S. Shattuck b. 1836 in Groton MA m. 1863 #1 Eliza Clark & had Charles L, Azalea & Daisey. Eliza died 1869. Eugene m. #2 Ellen Rebecca Fitch had my grandmother in Iowa and then family was in Medford, Jackson, OR and from there his children moved to Polk, Benton, & Multnomah counties. There are lots of Shattuck relatives in OR. Go to Robert Kline's site for a number of the connections. He is trying to connect all of us from all over and also has a site for "unconnected" Shattucks----- until they can be connected. [email protected] Also, the book "Memorial of William Shattuck" by Lemuel Shattuck is excellent. Heritage Quest has it online & most libraries have acess to it free to all of us and rootsweb.com has a lot of Shattucks. Ancestry has it as an extra membership item. My surnames: McEldowney (IRL, PA,NV,CA,OR) Law; Shattuck (MA,IO,OH,OR) Fitch , Nutting; Terway, Walker,(ID, OR) Noomen (in Holland); O'Mara (CO), Wilkinson (NE) Kimmel (Prussia, OR); Hassler, (Germany) Conover, Henderson, and .... McEldowney Family Potluck Reunion is August 21st in Junction City OR. Would love to connect with more of the Shattucks. Please feel free to contact me directly. Jeri Kimmel <[email protected]> wrote: Thankyou Gary! The Shadduck spellings are for the most part a splinter group from Shattuck. However, it is possible that a group or ever one family got angry with the rest of their family and changed the spelling back. Actually, in colonial times it was spelled a number of ways by the same people, sometimes varying even in the same document. Although most came from England, some have come from Germany and a number of different spellings have come over from England in the last two centuries. There were Shattucks in Portland and a judge Shattuck, but you had to go clear bad to the 2nd generation in this county, (The mid 1600's) to find a common ancestor. Now that's a removed relative. I don't know any of the current Shattuck's in Oregon, but I'm always interested in who they descend from.
