Very cold but bright today in between the hail/snow squalls; at least the F9 winds have dropped to F4/F5. Looking to the north from the kitchen window Sanday is white with snow. Yesterday we were supposed to fly to Kirkwall but Loganair cancelled the flight not because of the weather but because their aircraft had received two bird strikes and had to undergo "statutory" maintainance. We are hoping for better luck next week when the weather is supposed to be improving. -- Bruce Fletcher Stronsay, Orkney, UK http://www.stronsay.co.uk/claremont If you can read this, thank a teacher. Must have been a frightening experience. Glad the plane landed safely. -- Mike Clouston
