    3. Putting my sense of humour aside, I wondered if fur was more likely the garment of choice, in particular in winter, such as seal skin. In this event, it would sort of disappear or disintegrate, whereas the wool would be more inclined to resist decay. It is more likely that given the circumstances of the find, the hood, in common with Iron Age tradition, was deposited deliberately - given the quality and effort that went into making the garment.
