Hello-] A while ago I found 2 old The Beaver magazines (which features Canadian history) w/ stories about the HBC, some of which I transcribed. Today I found another in my "files" such as they are, and highly recommend it for the article "By Canoe to York Factory". The Beaver isssue is Aug/Sept 1992 and the trip described in the article actually took place in 1911 by canoe but there are several wonderful archival pix of York boats under full sail , and of York Factory itself. One interseting photo cutline describes the library ..."famous for its many old and rare books." The article is too long to reprint here but should you have access to this copy-11 years old and counting I realize- it is worthwhile for anyone with HBC/Manitoba & Orkney connections. cheers Thompson
