There's no sign. Davie's Brig lies by the main Kirkwall-Stromness road and, in the past at least, was a notorious accident blackspot. I had pictures, taken last Tuesday would you believe, when I was stuck there in the snow. But it seems that I deleted them. A vry small version of one is at http://www.orcadian.co.uk/archive/2004/snowcar.jpg. Davie's Brig is to the left of the red car. -- Sigurd Towrie Blackhall - Kirbister - Stromness - Orkney Heritage of Orkney: www.orkneyjar.com Home: sigurd@orkneyjar.com Work: sigurd.towrie@orcadian.co.uk
Interesting, and thank you. How far would the "brig' be from Hilda Seators farm (Grimbister Cheese)? My dad (from Finstown) always refers to it as Rob Davie's Brig. I'll ask him who Rob Davie was.
