After reading Sian's postings, and surfing a bit of Graemsay, it seems that the lifestyle there is another succulent slice of unspoiled Orkney. One site suggested a population of 22 souls. Thus if someone there was to deliver triplets, it will amount to an unprecedented population boom. That Dec. ferry video online is a prize to be sure. I think they should charge double on those thrashing days on the basis of the experience...somewhat like a triple length midway ride at a fall fair I was wondering if someone could point me to some online photos that might be airphoto shots of the island, or scenery shots. I remember seeing a big hilly island west of hoy, and another one which was once privately owned. Hard to get a good photo fix, albeit I looked at the map. Nothing like a photo to set it right in the mind. Sian's description of the winter ferry arrangements and the fact that people often stay there for a month at a time, is interesting stuff. That attitude bodes well for a hikers b and b/retreat there. "Stop the Clock...Listen to Nature Sing...Visit Graemsay." Great to be able to hear from ya online Sian. You are a good ambassador for your fair Graemsay isle as Bruce is for Stronsay. Twould be a dream to live a quiet life there... feed the birds, raise a few grouse and highland cattle, and perhaps have a part time job such as being the designated temperature recorder, or the fellow who empties the rain meter and records the fall. Maybe keep a few hens and a noisy rooster too. When they get on your nerves...eat em! Then get new ones in the spring. cheers...stephen
