    3. Granted, I wasn't there any longer than 3 days, but I think I may have seen one tree in total. An 8 footer! Now that's not too bad at all. I've sort of been curious. I wonder if it's just winds or is it also poor soil? Seems to me just about most crops that would grow in the environment grow well there. What is it with trees? Wind? I slept through the last 15 minutes of the game! Stephen gave me some advise, and that was to let the chatline (who is the chatine?) know my last name. Which is, Corrigal. My Great Great Grandfather James Corrigal came to Canada in 1813. I off to check out all the pictures! Cheers Tammy Corrigal Edmonton, Canada

    3. HI TAMMY: GREAT, ANOTHER CANADIAN EH?! I AM IN CENTRAL CANADA, AND LIKE YOURSELF FOUND THIS SITE BY DOGGED DETERMINATION TO UNEARTH FAMILY ROOTS. YOU WILL FIND THE EXPERIENCE VERY ENJOYABLE, AS THIS CANORKY DOES. (THAT IS A NEW NOUN, DESCRIBING THOSE PERSONS LIKE US WHO ARE DESCENDED FROM ORKNEY AND LANDED IN CANADA. ) CONGRATULATIONS ON THE GREY CUP VICTORY. LOVE THOSE ESKIMOS! BY THE WAY, IF YOU FEEL INCLINED TO LET THE CHATLINE KNOW YOUR LAST NAME, YOU WILL FIND THAT THESE FOLKS CAN STEER YOU TO ALL SORTS OF RESEARCH TOOLS AND IN SOME CASES, I ACTUALLY COULD IDENTIFY THEIR FAMILIES IN OUR OLD TREE. BY THE WAY, THE HUDSON'S BAY COMPANY HAS TONS OF INFORMATION ON THEIR LARGE NUMBER OF ORKNEYMEN WHO OPENED UP THE CANADIAN NORTH-WEST. BEST OF LUCK:.............STEPHEN On Sunday, November 16, 2003, at 11:15 PM, Tammy wrote: > Hi my name is Tammy. I live in Edmonton, Canada. This is my first > mailing list. 3. JIM: THANKS FOR THE TIP ON BOOK HUNTING. THE SAGA VERSION WHICH I FEEL DRAWN TO , IS THE ORIGINAL JOSEPH ANDERSON 1873 ENGLISH VERSION OR TRANSLATION. PUBLISHER IS EDMONSTON/DOUGLAS IN EDINBURGH. I AM WONDERING IF ANY OF OUR CHAT LINE FRIENDS WHO HAVE THIS COPY COULD COMMENT ON IT. ARE THE 11 PAGES OF LITHO PLATES WELL DONE?
