    3. The Oregonian ran an article about a hike in eastern Oregon that's near the ghost town of Cornucopia. Most of the article is about the hike, not the town, but I found it interesting. http://www.oregonlive.com/outdoors/index.ssf/2011/09/a_lake_hike_a_lodge_a_ghost_to.html I haven't been to a ghost town in a few years, but a month ago my husband and I stopped by Wilhoit Springs -- a ghost resort, if you will. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhoit_Springs The park service had some interesting newspaper articles about the site, which used to be an extremely popular resort. These days nothing's left except the springs (which are pretty darned foul-tasting, let me tell you!). Still, it was a nice place to stretch your legs and have a picnic. Jenny

    3. Well I left one LONG message on the Oregon list. One thing This is a great place to talk about any and all old towns. How about - from Alturas ( DOris Bridge ) CA to follow the people who came to Oregon. Small towns, with a tiny population, are still ghost towns because mainly, the oldest parts are not used much. What is your favorite old town ? Happy 4rth Dan

    3. Well there is a lot going on here for sure. We got some Doves from some people to go with the tame ones we had, the ones we got were wild one they raise them and keep them free, we kept them in the aviary 4 days and now we leave the door open and they fly and have a great time. At night they are all back inside. I made a perch and platform for feeding and 2 took over my shop and like the over head door when its up. We also got some chickens and they also get to run around. Ya I do find a lot of bones that are rock now, lots of agates and apache tears too. I dont hunt so miss out on that. We do have a lot of rabbits here but I would be weary to eat wild animals these days. How far north are you in CA ? 3. Dan, We are supposed to get rain here in northern Ca. But it may be really northern Ca. if it doesn't move down some. My son is up deer hunting, so he will like the rain if he gets any. Last time they had a few drops and that was all. His step son is 15 and has gone with him the last couple of years. They will have to bring him back part of the way for mama to pick him up for school Monday.. He loves going although he can't hunt yet as he hasn't had the classes for hunting yet. But he likes to go and be the great hunter. He was raised by a single mother so he needs the man thing. He does good in school and all. You can hunt just about any time you want to at your place. I imagine you do find alot of fossils in your area considering what happened in the thousands of years past. Good luck to you on your little piece of heaven. Hope it doesn't get to cold this winter. 3. I was so glad to get your email. Good to know I have new cousins I didn't know I had. I knew there had to be people out there some place. Where do you live. I am down here in Ca. Orland Ca. I am sure we are really scattered all over the place. This is supposed to be sunny Ca. but the last week the weather has really been bad. Supposed to end today and have our sun shine, then it will go into 100 degrees and we will all just melt. Of course I could stand to have a little chubby melted off, but don't think it will work that way. I have to reply to Carol as she has sent me some attatchments. Glad to get them. Hubby has to go to the Dr. this morning for a check up. He has had by pass surgery in 1984 and has had a couple stents since then, so has some ups and down. But except for not having the energy he used to have and can't work all day he is doing ok.
