Janice; thanks so much for the photos...it seems they came off Google maps and streetview? I guess that "Higher Ground" business, formerly 2488 Yonge st, has moved to new premises since this photo...now at 2541 in a new building? from their website. now knowing the name of the apartment building, "Greencastle Block" I may be able to focus my search better. and these photos will be great to give my friend for where her birth father lived in 1940. And I do believe this area was a part of Toronto quite early on...at least before 1940. I need to find out when William Richardson moved there, and where else he might have lived in Toronto. If anyone has memories of this particular building, I would love to hear them. regards Liz of BC
