    3. if you Google <national registration 1940> you get a hit...for statscan.gc.ca it explains how to do searches of the NATIONAL REGISTRATION of 1940...it was a registration of all adults over 18 in order to estimate the potential fighting forces, that's how i see it anyway. you can submit your particulars for your person and they let you know if you are successful...THEN YOU PAY...$50.00. took my lookup about 2 months. The more you know about your person the better, so it is useful to determine where your person was living in 1940, 29 years after 1911...hope you have good results too. liz On Jan 16, 2012, at 3:09 PM, Heather Bertram wrote: > What is the site for this 1940 National Registration? > > Heather > > -----Original Message----- > From: ontario-bounces@rootsweb.com > [mailto:ontario-bounces@rootsweb.com] On > Behalf Of harvieandliz > Sent: January 16, 2012 5:44 PM > To: ONTARIO@rootsweb.com > Subject: [ONTARIO] it worked! 1940 National Registration > > hi folks, i just used the 1940 National Registration to find a long > lost person..and had success.
