    3. Doreen:     All your links are wonderful. Yes, I found Walter McGarrigle and 3 other soldiers from Guelph Ontario . The story of how his friend carried him in the forced march which saved his life was quite moving. I don't believe Walter told his family just what he endured for two years in the prison camp. He passed away in 1987 living in Santa Ana California with his wife and two daughters since 1955. I am very grateful for your help.Thank you again Doreen.
