I need help tracing down what happened to Jessie Guthrie Nisbet, once married to Lloyd George Edison Coughtrey. She left the family around 1951. What I do know is that Jessie married Lloyd on September 23 1942 in Milton, Glasgow, Scotland. Lloyd was a Canadian sailor in WWII at the time. Jessie and Lloyd had a son John in Scotland in 1943 and then the 3 came to Canada, back to London Ontario where Lloyd was from. They had daughter Gloria in 1946, born in London, Ontario. Jessie and Lloyd are listed in the London City Directories until about 1951 when she is no longer listed with Lloyd or in the directory. The family has had no contact with her since. Lloyd remarried in 1964 in Windsor, Ontario to Kathleen Carson. Lloyd died in 1975 in London and Kathleen later in 1981. So if you know of Jessie Guthrie Nisbet or Jessie Guthrie Coughtrey or any Jessie Guthrie with another surname that was born in Maryhill, Glasgow, Scotland on January 11 1921 to parents William Mackay Nisbet and Jessie Guthrie, I would love to hear from you. Jessie would have been my first cousin, twice removed. It is not known if she stayed in Ontario, moved elsewhere in Canada or the US or returned to Scotland. Any help is very much appreciated.
