    1. [ONTARIO] Finding a Divorce
    2. Eric Nisbet
    3. I am seeking advice from those of you who have searched for divorces in Ontario through the archives. I have a document that explains the process of finding divorces granted between 1931 and 1979 (the time period I am seeking), however it is always good to hear tips from those that have gone through the process. Lloyd Coughtrey and his first wife Jessie Guthrie Nisbet divorced between 1955 and 1964 (Lloyd remarried in 1964). She had left the family years earlier to parts unknown. Family indicated that Lloyd had a hard time locating her in order to divorce and I am hoping the decree will give me a clue as to where she went so I can determine where she may have died. The divorced would have been filed in London Ontario, Middlesex County. I am hoping that my local library can borrow two sets of microfiche from the Ontario Archives. I need "Province-wide indexes to Applications for Decrees Absolute (Series RG22-5816) and also for Middlesex "Series RG22-2204 Procedure Books 1931-1975". These will provide the name, application date, city, application number and file number so that I can request the document(s). Can anyone provide advice from their experiences on the best way to approach this search? Thanks, Eric Nisbet
