You don't need an Ancestry.com subscription to see the 1940 census on April 2. You will be able to access it directly through the National Archives and through Familysearch.org And since it won't be indexed initially, there are ways to find who you are looking for without going through every single record. If anyone is interested on how to do this, please let me know and I can post here. You will, at the very least, need a street name or better yet a complete address.
