Hi listers, I'm trying to find out some more about the following person and his family: Francis NIXEY He appears on Ancestry's Passenger and Imigration Index aged 54. I have found him in the 1871 Census of Ontario, he is said to be born Ireland about 1817, which matches the above index. He is stated to be married, and is a Presbyterian. His wife is jane aged 40, born Ontario, and their children are Ann Eliza 14, William J 11, Thomas Jas 9, Catharine M 8, and Emily 4, all born Ontario. The question is, is the family of Nixey an accurate transcription? I have no Nixey's yet in Ireland that early on, 1817, and so far I've not found the family in any later censuses. Jon not quite sure what you are asking, the names & ages you show match those on original 1871 Census for Bedford Twp, Addington County, Ontario. Also looked for surname Nixey on 1881, 1891, 1901 Census, nothing.
