    3. Hi Barbara: Sorry abt your cousin! Of course you want to keep the name private under the circumstances! I didn't mean you couldn't find it online if it was a more recent obit but if it was pre-2002 or so, it likely wouldn't be online as lots of newspapers didn't start an Archive of obits online until about that year. That's why I asked for the date. Try www.legacy.com, type in the first and last names, or just the last one if it's not a common name like Smith or Jones, as sometimes putting in a first name as well as the last may not bring your person's obit up if it's been put in the newspaper with a name that he/she went by but was not their "legal" name, like Bob instead of Robert. Anyway, change the country to Canada and select, say, the last 6 months, choose Ontario. Click Search. The Ottawa Citizen has their archived obits on the Legacy site. Or, go direct to the Ottawa Citizen's obits: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/ottawacitizen/ which, as you can see, are linked to the Legacy website. Another search site is http://www.yourlifemoments.ca/sitepages/search.asp Make sure you select Obituaries in the drop-down box called Moments. Ignore the log-in boxes at the top as you no longer need to register with the site to search it.
