I believe anyone who is from Ontario knows the history of the Black Donnellys. Wayne's image brought to mind that images have been seen on the tombstone of the Donnelly's in Lucan. I was researching a woman from Hamilton last name Donnelly but no relation when I came across the 4 death registrations all one after the other in the Ontario registrations. Talk about being careful not to rile one side or another every cause of death is listed as "presumed murdered". I believe one had been axed in the back. Rather clumsy accident if he did it to himself. James who was shot at his brother's house must have had a clumsy accident also. Just alittle Ontario history. You hear and read all the stories that are like folklore but it is an eye-opener when they actually appear in the official records. I copied them and put them in my files under HISTORY. Hi Peggy, There was a great program on TV where a retired Toronto Police officer re-enacted what happened, he even went as far as stating who he thought murdered the Donnellys.
