Maybe one of the concerns should be hereditary health condition? Medical info is the biggest reason I looked up my family. Lets face it, most of us don't start having medical problems till we hit our late 40's and 50's. When a young woman gives up her child she is just that, a young woman. Usually a healthy young woman. As she ages problems might come to light and family history of medical conditions that she didn't know about when the child was given up. For me it was so wonderful to have that info. When I was about 15 I started to get irritable bowel syndrome. For years and years I had doctors tell me that I was just a nervous person and would I like some tranquilizer. Well, No i didnt' want any tranquilizer when I was raising my family. I didn't believe that was the reason anyways. Well when I was able to contact my family, my mother had 7 children with a variety of men, and six of them, counting me had the bowel problems. Some of the kids were in childrens homes and raised in a variety of homes. My Mother didn't raise all the kids all the time. Then of course I was given up at one year old so she had nothing to do with me. So it had to be hereditary. You couldn't count enviroment cause we weren't together. I can't think of any other reason for it. THat has not helped me treat it but at least I know it isn't just me. Then when I needed surgery, a hysterectomy, I was able to confir with my aunts and see about the family. Everyone had the hysterectomy and had to go back later and get their ovaries out. So my doctor said they need to be removed instead of going back later for it. Some medical problems couldn't be linked to family but some could and it is important. They need place that people giving up children can submit medical info over the years to pass it on to their children. Okay, off my soap box now. deb -----Original Message----- From: ontario-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ontario-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of joyce stevens Sent: Saturday, September 22, 2007 3:37 PM To: ontario@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ONTARIO] ADOPTION RECORDS Maybe one of the concerns should be hereditary health condition?
