The Canadian television station CBC recently started a series called "Who Do You Think You Are?" which is a genealogy series in which 13 well known Canadians set out to discover their family roots. Even if you cannot see the programs, the website does provide information on researching your family tree under the Genealogy 101 section. Not only does it provide beginners with tips and a case study showing how to work through your research but there are excellent links to Canadian resources under the Resources link.
