    3. Hello, While looking for a William KIDDER in 1700's NY, I was reminded of a Richard KIDDER of 1700's Maine: Richard Kidder became quite a character during the Revolutionary War, and because of his loyalty to the King was forced to seek safety in flight to Nova Scotia. My note: When the time was right, he returned to Maine. On quick look, William was not a popular first name amongst the early KIDDER's. Of the few that I did find, most stayed in New England. I did see one William who spent most of his adult life in Darien, NY. There are researchers who have KIDDER's on their "tree" who came up to Quebec Province early on. I don't know if they are still on the Lists, and I don't know if they ever found the definite information on them. (There should be postings on them in the archives of the Lists and Boards.) Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) Remember to check the archives of all the Lists and Boards for your surnames and place-names. And, please remember to check the on-line auctions for for your surnames and place-names. (Just a reminder of my new List: CAN-USA-MIGRATION)
