    1. [ONTARIO] Margot KIDDER's family-tree
    2. Betty
    3. Hello, Since Margot KIDDER's family-tree has been mentioned on that new TV show, and I found out that her maternal line was discussed, I thought I would do a little investigating and came up with her KIDDER line: It started out with the patriarch and his wife, James KIDDER (1626-1676) and Anna MOORE. James arrived probably around 1650 and married the daughter of Francis MOORE of Cambridge, MA. They had 12 children, some born after they moved to Billerica, MA. The line comes down to Enoch KIDDER who married Mary HAYWARD and then married Mrs. Hannah (CROSBY) DANFORTH. * Enoch and Mary had 7 children. The line comes down to Francis KIDDER who married Elizabeth HILL. They had 10 children. The line comes down to Francis KIDDER, Jr., who married Mary CHASE, and they had 9 children. (Francis, Sr., had moved his family to Sutton, MA, and Francis, Jr., lived there and then moved to Stratton, VT.) The line comes down to Abel KIDDER who married his cousin, Mary CHASE, and then married Mrs. Sarah (?) SPRAGUE. Abel and Mary had 9 children. The line comes down to Ashbel KIDDER who married Mary SPRAGUE. They lived in Stratton, VT, and had 10 children. The line comes down to Willard KIDDER who married Louise KENDALL. They lived in Genesseo, IL, Quincy, MI, and Terre Haute, IN, and they had 7 children. The line comes down to Sidney KIDDER who was born in Indiana; he married Margaret POWELL in CA. Sidney was a mining engineer and lived in New Mexico. According to the KIDDER book, they had 3 children, and that's where the information stops. The line comes down to Kendall KIDDER, b1920, and I have no further information on him. The 1920 census has Sidney and Margaret KIDDER living in New Mexico with their 3 children mentioned, but the 3rd child is an infant, Sidney, instead of with the name, Kendall. I have inquired and found out that Sidney's family was not in the 1930 census in the U.S. Since Sidney was a university-educated mining engineer, one guess is that they moved to Canada during the 1920's ! I don't know of the moves around Canada for this family, but Margot was born in Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories in the 1940's ! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0452288/bio One curiousity is that Margot was reported to have a cousin, Janet KIDDER, in Canada, another actress. I wonder if that means that Sidney and Marget KIDDER had more children, maybe another son, after they moved to Canada. Hope this is of interest to some ! Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) (KIDDER is my main research of 13 years.) * I was going to say that I am also descended from Simon CROSBY of Billerica, MA, but, when looking at the "history of Billerica," I see a small mystery developing ! :o)
