Marg, Thanks for the pointers. I have searched The Canadian Military Heritage Project, Olive Tree and Ancestry.com and I am not finding very many muster rolls, mainly found is those that were sentenced to death or jailed. I guess I should mention I am looking for my ancestor Levi Willson/Wilson. According to his obit he was a Major in the 1837 Rebellion (among other things like sheriff). I will look through the links you have sent. THANK YOU! That is why I sent you to The Canadian Military Heritage Project. There you will find the list of what is available in Ottawa or Ontario Archives for this Rebellion. -- Lorine McGinnis Schulze * Olive Tree Genealogy (Ships Passenger Lists) http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ * Naturalization Records http://naturalizationrecords.com/ * Images of Ships Lists http://www.rootsweb.com/~ote/ships/ otg@csolve.net or olivetreegenealogy@gmail.com
Again thanks for the pointers. Being disabled in California and unable to get around I have to rely on the books, the internet (free and pay services) and genealogy angels who live in the areas I am needing information from to help me gain the information. This is why I ask on mailing lists since 9 times out of 10 someone else has helpful information, ideas or the needed information as they are a cousin I haven't located yet.
