Do you know where in Canada she moved to? Was it Ontario or somewhere else? The Ontario marriage (up to 1924) & death indices (up to 1934) are searchable on Ancestry.ca but of course you have to pay. Yes you would be able to search just using her first & second name (I assume BOYLE is her maiden name & you don't know her married name?) but her second name might not be on the registration. Certain Manitoba, Saskatchewan British Columbia & New Brunswick b/m/d indices are searchable online for free - generally only for births more than approximately 100 years ago and marriages and deaths from 20(B.C.) to 80 years ago - just do a google search you should be able to find them easily. I'm not sure about the other provinces. The 1911 Canadian census is searchable for free. www.automatedgenealogy.com Robin -----Original Message----- From: ontario-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ontario-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Sheila Tutton Sent: October 5, 2007 9:08 AM To: ONTARIO@rootsweb.com Subject: [ONTARIO] Mary Baldwin Boyle I have joined this list because I'm seeking advice on how next to proceed in the search for Mary Baldwin BOYLE also know as Polly Boyle Mary was born in Kensington London in 1884 and she was still in London for the 1901 census. The next we here of her is the family story that she returned to London from Canada with her daughter in 1945/7 to visit her sister my grandmother. Where can I search the Canadian marriage index? Would I be able to search the Canadian death index using just her Christian names of Mary Baldwin? Is there a Canadian census I could search?
Hello Robin Many thanks for your suggestions, I seem to remember that she was in London and I have had a look at the 1911 census but can't pick her out. Yes Boyle was her maiden name and I have no idea what her married name was. I think my best bet would be to join Ancestry Canada and see if I can find her on the marriage Index.
