I was in Grace Anglican Church Hamilton Ontario today and saw what a lovely church it once was. Sadly it has now closed and everything inside is almost up for grabs it seems. Orphaned memorials include this bronze plaque from WW2 W. RONALD LANCE NORMAN E KIRK ROSS L CUZNER JOHN GILBERTSON JOHN D PIKEN JOSEPH P SPEAKMAN JOHN A CORBETT ROBERT J. ORR WALTER H COOK CHARLES WILLOUGHBY and a second one for GEORGE HENRY CHAFFEY P.O. RCAF JOSEPH PAGE SPEAKMAN OBSERVER RCAF These plaques lack a new home I'm told. If there are any family members out there who can find a suitable public place for them I'm sure the people at the church would like them to be displayed. There are a number of large very ornate stained glass windows as well in need of a home,. inclding a massive one to the above heroes. Even the original record book of the founding of the church lies in a heap of plaster dust - possibly soon to be forgotten as well. Unless somebody wants a big church it will be torn down. :-((( Nelson
