Are there any biographies of him? They often give the maiden name of the wife. I'm hoping to get a copy of the actual marriage certificate for my Great Uncle (deceased) William Henshaw. He married a woman named Rose in Toronto on November 26, 1929. They worked as hairstylists in Toronto until my Great Uncle's death a few years later. For the life of me, I can't seem to unearth 'Rose's' maiden name. Without this piece, I don't think that I can order a copy of the marriage certificate. I have checked a few years of the Toronto city directories...and even find her listed in 1935 as a widow: Rose Henshaw (wid Wm) and she was living at 94 Balmoral. When he was alive, William worked as a barber. I found him listed in 1933 at 399 Eglinton Avenue East...an address that was in our family for awhile and was also the family barbering business. Rose appears there too...shown as a hairdresser for J. Nelson Day Co. Unfortunately, when I was at the archives, I wasn't on the ball with this Rose for my earlier searches so I didn't clue in to see if she was listed on earlier rolls. The library did a search for me in 1932 and 1934 but could not locate her. Long story short, does anyone have any further ideas as to how I can unearth her mystery maiden name? I did try the Pages of the Past for the Toronto Star but did not find a marriage announcement or a death announcement for William. I do have a copy of William's death certificate but poor Rose isn't mentioned. It's his mother that's listed as the informant. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
