Hi Virginia - Alice sent you info on John Davis in Haldimand county from 1851 Census. If that is the right john Davis then you should go to www.familysearch.org to review the 1881 Canada Census. Jane Davis shows there as a 72 year old widow living with son George. Other family members from the list that Alice posted are in the 1881 Census for Haldimand County but with Ontario birth locations which would indicate an earlier arrival for John Davis in Canada.
