My brother-in-law's grandfather was told by his parents that he was adopted but his children think that may have been a lie to cover up pre-marital "fun". He died in 1985 and his children now want to learn the truth. Was he adopted or not? His daughter found his birth certificate registered less than a week after his birth in 1932. It shows his name and the names of the parents who raised him. Would there be an indication on the birth certificate if he was adopted? What steps should we take to find out the truth?
