    1. [ONTARIO] how to obtain record
    2. As Ontario was a hot bed of Scottish immigration I hope someone will be able to help. I have found a marriage in Glasgow, Scotland of my ggggrandparents how ended up in Hamilton Ontario. I have no idea how to get a copy of a marriage from there. If anyone has successfully accomplished this feat I would appreciate any instruction. It may not be entirely on topic so it may be of least trouble to the list if the information comes directly to me. Thanking all in advance for reading. 3. Hi there, I was hoping that someone might be able to offer some advice. I'd like to get the marriage certificate for my Great Uncle. I have the marriage date, his full name, the city (Toronto) where it took place, but only have the first name of his bride. Is there anyway to get the certificate without her surname? Jackie M. 3. Hi Jackie: If it's 1922 or before, please post the names, dates and those of us with Ancestry subscriptions will be happy to look it up for you, send you a transcript of the marriage, and also send you a copy of the registration if you want it. If it's 1923 - 1925, you can get it thru your local LDS family history centre. If it's 1926, "The marriage registrations for 1926 were transferred to the Archives of Ontario in 2007. They are closed for microfilming which takes approximately one year from the date of transfer. The should be available to the public some time in 2008. The Archives will search for and copy 1926 marriage registrations only if the information is required to meet urgent legal or humanitarian needs. Requests for this information must include: the name of the person on record, the year of the marriage, the place of marriage if known, and the legal or humanitarian reason for making the request. Please submit your request and contact information to: Archives of Ontario 77 Grenville Street, 3rd Floor Toronto, Ontario Canada M5S 1B3 Tel: 416-327-1600 / 1-800-668-9933 toll free in Ontario only Fax: 416-327-1999 Email:reference@ontario.ca An Archives of Ontario staff member will contact you to confirm receipt of your request and to discuss any copying charges that may apply." If it's 1927 onward, follow the Finding a Marriage Registration pathfinder to see if you qualify to order it from the Office of the Register General: http://www.archives.gov.on.ca/english/interloan/vsmain.htm Marg in Sunny Alberta
