> Does the 1851 Census, not [tell] us WHEN a family emmigrated to this Country? No, date of immigration is not one of the questions asked, nor is it on the 1861 census. But if the family has a few kids and they came from somewhere else, check the kids' birthplaces. This will at least give you a timespan when the immigration occurred. I also notice, after a lot of transcribing, that if a family usually has a child every two years, there will be a larger gap at the immigration period. /cheers Pat -----Original Message----- From: ontario-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ontario-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Bonnie Cole Sent: 17 July 2007 19:22 To: ONTARIO LIST Subject: [ONTARIO] 1851 Census Hello: Does the 1851 Census, not us WHEN a family emmigrated to this Country?
