Hi This is my first posting on this list as I have only just found a Gresham connection with Ontario. I am looking for any connection to Longford Gresham and his wife Mary Wallace who settled in London or Sarnia when they arrived from Ireland. Any information on this couple would be appreciated we are looking at a time frame of early 20th century as they had two children in N Ireland in the 1910's. I know when they died and where they are buried it is the life in the middle I am interested in. In fact any information on any Gresham will help as I am trying to link together all the various branches from the family who originated in Lincolnshire in the 1600's. Pam
Hi Pam: I live in London and noted your query regarding Longford Gresham. Unfortunately obtaining info in the 1900s isn't going to be easy as the latest census available to the public is 1911 and the birth indexes are only available to the public up to 1910 (marriages to 1925 and deaths to 1935). The first thing I guess that you need to do is determine whether it was London or Sarnia that they settled in. There are a few London City Directories at the LDS FHC here in London where I do my research. I can take a look and see if I can spot his name. Other than city directories which usually give street address and sometimes occupation there isn't a lot of info available.
