You could email or call them in advance they are always very helpful. Have you tried Carrville Cemetery or Maple Cemetery or even Zion Primitive Methodist at Don Mills & Finch (earliest 1854)? Where did the the one son in York Twp live in 1850? - the only one I could find was a miller and grain buyer at York Mills in 1878 and I can't find anyone in the 1837 Home District Directory. Where would I find them? Have you other suggestions about where I should look, please? Bonnie
Thanks Robin. I will check St James Cathedral transcription next week and contact St James Cemetery before I go. I have seen transcripts for Carrville, Maple and Zion Primitive Methodist....no luck. > Have you tried Carrville Cemetery or Maple Cemetery or even Zion Primitive > Methodist at Don Mills & Finch (earliest 1854)? I assume data for 1837 Home District Directory was collected the previous year which is the year the family arrived from England which is why they were missed. The sons did not purchase land until later so family`s residence in York Township is a bit of a mystery. John and Mary`s eldest son, Thomas RUMBLE (my direct line) appears a conc 4, lot 4 York Twp in 1846 directory. There were several people listed on this lot and concession so presumably it was a village. I checked a couple of old maps and there seems to be two options... west of Yonge near Weston or east of Yonge (could not determine exact location)....I think it more likely they were east of Yonge Street.
