Hi Ellen: All the residents shown on that page, although in different dwellings, were fairly recent arrivals in Canada, from Italy, Austria/Poland; the one thing they all had in common was that they were Roman Catholic and they were labourers working for the paper mill. It is likely that the Mill built houses for the workers, and perhaps the Church had some input as well. There are several pages of people with the same description working for the paper mill and there are other pages again with European labourers working for the CPR. Guelph must have been a pretty busy place on a Saturday night in 1911!
