    1. [ONTARIO] That SURNAME Again - NIDD
    2. Marlene Cox
    3. Beginning of June whilst surfing again the name of NIDD still trying to find the early days of Pte. J. Nidd I came across this message below . This is the JUST The ONLY RECORD I really need ..I know where he lived after he left the Army and he was a Tailor in 1981 I know all about his children and grankids, and eventually I will find His and his wife's death details Wondering if any one can come up with any suggestions of how I can try and find out which museum. Kew in England didn't have his papers when I went through the box of the Regt. last year. Thanks for any Info Marlene in Oakville. ""I am very interested in the comment about the military. The local museum just purchased a mid 19th century barracks box marked to J. Nidd, Royal Canadian Rifle Regiment. The names Nidd and Nedd were very rare surnames and seemed to be used interchangeably in census records """ and this is what I asked back to the writer .... "Is there any info you can give me of the museum that has these documents, I would love to see if I can fit him in the the right family of the UK Nidd Collections that I have, I am hoping somewhere there will be mention of where he was born and his parents names or at least his Dad's Hoping you will be able to help me ......... John Nidd in 1849 was Pte. of the 100th Foot attached to the Royal Canadian Rifles in Niagara area when his son William was born and christened. ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo!
