Hi Pat ... Esquesing is one of "my" areas, and never seen it as Essequibo. Snce this notice was printed in a newspaper, I am willing to go 50 / 50 odds on this one really being in Guyana. This problem is fun ... so let's keep plugging away to see if anyone can find THE answer ... Onwards! Hi Brian You never know what you are going to find in a newspaper. Way back before I started transcribing I found an 1848 death notice in a Dumfries (Scotland) newspaper which gave my ggg-grandmother's home as "in Genoch" in Balmaghie parish. Her son (who was a Registrar) said he was born in Erngennoch in Balmaghie parish. It was more than a year before I realized they were one and the same place! And, considering Dumfries was a good 20 miles away I've always wondered how they got the information, complete with the error, to the newspaper office. /cheers Pat -----Original Message----- From: ontario-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ontario-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Brian Gilchrist Sent: Saturday, January 05, 2008 6:02 PM To: ontario@rootsweb.com Subject: [ONTARIO] Essequibo versus Esquesing Hi Pat ...
