    1. [ONTARIO] finding Crown Land Grant application
    2. We know for sure that John Roe had two Crown land grants for Conc 8 Lots 27 & 28 in Alice Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario. This was about 1860. We know that in 1872 and 1873 that these lots were proved and he was given a land patent of ownership. Therefore, we don't need to start at step one, we think. . . We have a copy of the Renfrew County land title book for this property. What we can't figure out how to do is to find the original application that should have some personal information. We have access to the archives' films in Cloverdale, BC. Can anyone point us in the right direction. We have look where we think we are directed on Olive Tree Genealogy but can't find a John Roe, our John Roe. Help!!! Bonnie in California **************Start the year off right. 3. Hi Bonnie, You can write to the Land Registry office in Ontario (nearest one to that area) and ask for a land abstract for those lots from crown disposition to whenever (1880?) or even to the present day. There might even be record of wills there, etc. That is how I got my ggg grandfather's will and my gg grandfather's will. You have to order them once you get the abstract (there is a charge) Peggy ----- Original Message ----- From: <Trunthsams@aol.com> To: <Ontario-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 09, 2008 10:58 AM Subject: [ONTARIO] finding Crown Land Grant application > We know for sure that John Roe had two Crown land grants for Conc 8 Lots > 27 > & 28 in Alice Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario.
