Hi all, Just to mention that I recently found two British Home Children who were living with a cousin of mine. One was adopted by the family, but the other retained his own name. I found them on this site : http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~britishhomechildren/ Perry Snow who is the creator, helped me verify that these were the correct children. Now to find out what happened to them. One was in the military as I found his attestation papers. I am wondering if anyone has any connection to them? The names were: Charles HANN b. 1903 Middlesex, England. Came to Canada 1911 aboard the Tunisia - retained his own name James Harris WOODWORTH b. Stoke Upon Trent, Staffordshire, England. Came to Canada 1909 aboard the Corsican - adopted Both were Bernardo Children and lived with Robert J. & Mary (Nevils) CARR. As mentioned, Charles retained his own name and James was adopted, using his adoptive name CARR. They lived in Elmvale ON. I took a photo of the Carr tombstone a couple of years ago, but no sign of the boys. Dawn (Smyth) Hicks _____ avast! Antivirus <http://www.avast.com> : Outbound message clean.
