Susan, Can you give an indication where Mary and William were living. Also, did Robert Patton reside in Ontario? Was he married? There is a Robert Pattan born circa 1830 living in Perth as per the 1881 Census. There is an 1889 Ontario death registration stating birth place as Scotland.
