Good Saturday morning everyone: I have just started on this family and am wondering if anyone has done any research into the McMaster family, specifically Senator William McMaster of McMaster University fame. I am trying to find a list of siblings, as according to the Dictionary of Canadian Biography he had various nephews working for him at various times. My interest is in a Mary Ann (Minnie) McMaster (supposedly one of William's nieces) who married Kenneth Chisholm of Brampton in 1865. Her father is either a Joseph or a John McMaster - hence supposedly a brother to Senator William. Minnie died in 1904 in Brampton - the funeral was private and she is not buried with her husband and children in the Brampton cemetery (the Cemetery has checked and I have seen the plot cards). One of their sons was named Fenton Chisholm. Minnie's brother, Samuel Fenton McMaster married Elizabeth (?) who was involved with the founding of The Hospital for Sick Children. Minnie also had a sister Eliza McMaster married a W. G. (?) Paterson of Streetsville - no further details as yet, and sister Catherine McMaster and I do not know what happened to her.
