The correct family is on the 1871 census: Richard..53, wife Eliza; sons Andrew and John and I believe Richard's mother, Emeline. They lived then in West Gwillimbury. Simcoe South. Family believe he resided in Bond Head. His mother Emeline probably died there. I cannot find a death registration for her. I was told that Richard was a carpenter who built 'bank barns' around that county. I would like to find Richards father's name. The Ontario death index lists Richard as dying Mar 1, 1899 age 81 in York where I believe he was living with John. Could any one tell me what papers to search for Richard's and Emiline's obituaries which would probably hold more clues? Thank you so much for your time and expertise. Gladys in Alberta
