    3. Marsha, I would suggest that you take out a short term subscription to Pages of the Past from the Toronto Star newspaper. People published events such a birth, death, marriage and engagements in those days more than in recent years. See: http://thestar.pagesofthepast.ca/ The cover page has good instructions and offers a free edition for 1945 which is a good one to try out as to how the site works. If you don't have time before your trip to take out a subscription then a trip to the Central Toronto library might work for you. Cheers! 3. Hi, Thanks for responding. Sorry, I do realize the marriages for those years aren't available as searches. We're leaving for Toronto this weekend and will be in the city into next week -- then will be out of the city visiting cousins. I was thinking more of a library to go through newspapers, in case there was a notice (did something similar in Cleveland and found a key obit, which led to third cousins). So, Central Toronto library? Any other places? Any other resources beyond the Toronto Star? If this fails, I know (think I know) there's a system for a vital records search ($15 )? Then, if the event is found, an additional cost for the certificate? The bride was my father's first cousin, so I'm guessing I'm not allowed to file the application/s? Thanks again, Marsha Stringer (nee MEERE) [email protected] USA   www.bittonfamilies.com  ________________________________________ From: D O' [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, May 11, 2010 10:23 AM To: [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: RE: [ONTARIO] Marriage, abt 1934-1938, Maybe Toronto Marsha, I would suggest that you take out a short term subscription to Pages of the Past from the Toronto Star newspaper. Cheers!
