It appears that England - is also considering changes to the Census - and I believe some other European countries as well. Not to the benefit of the Country - or the people - where services are determined by information found in the Census. Life style changes so quickly these days - different head of households - different parenting - schooling. many more women employed - Census helps to determine where child care may be needed in the future [ the future is now ] as well - care and housing for seniors - etc. The movement of businesses - in the country - or the loss of same/ manufacturing etc - is all important - Plus - there is the information that Genealogists will always be searching for - Not everything on Facebook is accurate - and can't be relied on - now or in the future. so this does not seem an option. Govt decisions are made by persons - who perhaps attempt to save dollars - in what they find is the simplest way. - not thinking of next week - or the future . Letter writing to our govt officials - seems the way to go. Petitions as well. We Won with a great deal of help - the Census records that were being refused to us.
