    3. There is an entry on LDS Family Search with the following info which does not reference any source so would have to be verified: Mary Abbot d/o Bancroft Abbot & Lydia White >Birth: 6 june 1795 - Newbury, Orange Co., VT >Death: 24 Oct 1834, Chicago, Cook Co., IL >Spouse: Amos Bailey / Bayley >Marriage: 10 February 1816 Another entry from this same location gives this info: William Towle (aged 27) married Mary Abbott on 8 December 1824, Champlain, Clinton, NY Just a thought ... Champlain NY is a small community which borders Champlain QC and very close to VT. Mary may have been born in USA but closest church for that family's religion may have been in QC. Cheers! 3. Yes, I posted a message on Jan 4th that I had been "hacked"; I was fearful that persons in my contact list may have also received the virus and wanted to alert all from coast to coast to coast! I have checked the List's archives and nothing was posted until Jan 8 - see: http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/index/ONTARIO/2012-01 so you likely haven't missed anything. By the way - all emails have been cleaned and cleared, passwords changed, virus scans reviewed and updated. So am safe territory once again. Cheers! 2. Catt
    3. Ann Miller was the daughter of John Miller who came to Canada about 1833 from Ireland. They may have lived in Highland Creek, Ontario, Canada. I am told William Parker was from England somewhere and was a butcher. I am seeking her Miller and mother's ancestry, and other genealogical information. Other descendants? Catt

Shenston, printed 1852, page 165 - online at Google Books). On 5 May 1836, Ira C. Day of Oxford County, Upper Canada purchased land in Calhoun County Michigan (www.glorecords.blm.gov). Please go to the Website at: http://www.gravemarkers.ca and click on the "JOIN UPDATES NEWSLETTER" button located just above the weather row. * * HELPFUL HINTS - SUMMARY. ********************** * 1. Regional Search Engines. If you know what region in Canada your ancestors are buried, have you checked out the "REGIONAL SEARCH ENGINES"? This is a new feature available on the front page of the website at http://gravemarkers.ca * 2. Searching large cemeteries. All cemeteries with over 5,000 burials now have an exclusive search engine which will search only that cemetery! Scroll down the individual cemetery page watching for the "search box" and supporting narrative. * 3. Tracing female ancestors. Cemeteries online have spousal duplicated photographs. This means a photo of a stone which also has the spouse's maiden name showing, is duplicated and when one searches using the onboard search engine, for a surname, the spouse's surname will be reported as a separate "search result". * 4. Cemetery records. Over the past 11 years this website has been instrumental in breaking down many researchers' brick walls. In addition, many folks have travelled to cemeteries which are onboard, to personally and physically view the grave markers. Please note that on some cemeteries we have included the "record holders" contact information for the township, town or village cemetery. * 5. Missing cemeteries. If you don't see a Community and its' cemeteries online...it means we have not photographed the cemeteries in that area. Would you or some of your family or friends be interested in helping out by photographing your local cemeteries.? * * FEEDBACK ******* * We are always interested in feedback from Visitors to the website. If you have any questions or suggestions to improve the *Canadian Gravemarker Gallery* please do not hesitate to send your comments, concerns or suggestions to us at: info@gravemarkers.ca * * ********************************************* * Happy New Year and all the best in 2012.....Murray P l e t s c h * Cdn Gravemarker Gallery - http://gravemarkers.ca * *********************************************

They were living in Bedminster, rather than Frome, and, if I remember correctly, the surname had been mistranscribed as Milruis on Ancestry. 3. What age were the boys? If 10 and 11 lb. boys can lift and move heavy bags of flour and bales of hay, and a 10 girl can heave bales of hay too, then an axe is no problem with rage and adrenaline surging through one's veins. A male some what smaller could have put on an older sister's boots and done the murder. Let's suppose that the wandering eye street car conductor was mistreating the daughter or the others including the mother, and if she was the oldest she took it into her hands to kill the oppressor or pedophile or rapist or philanderer. The mother lost her mind at seeing the murdered husband, so they locked her up. Sounds like the Henry Sovereign Murder Case! Catt > 7. Perhaps depending on the size of the ax - but a 12 year old is almost adult - and depending on her size - strength - and anger at the time. anything is possible. That is a time of the beginning of raging hormones . also depends on the situation - was she ill treated ? or shielding herself and others from danger ? Who was the person injured ? Why was the mother sent to an asylum - because of shock of the situation ? Who sent the children , boys to Ontario - girls to Nebraska - ? and never allowed to meet ? Perhaps so that they could not compare situation ? 1. [ONTARIO] Hugh Mark - East Hawkesbury, Ontario
    2. Happy New Year all! I am hoping that someone can direct me in the search for my great Grandfather: Hugh Mark b. 1818 (perhaps in Farranacshog, N.I.). Married Eunice Reid (m. 1855). Most of the early Mark clan were living, married and died in the East Hawkesbury, Ontario area. Hugh Mark was supposedly buried in Barb Cemetery outside of VanKleek Hill, Ontario. However, it was eventually found that Hugh was not buried in the allotted cemetery plot. In the 1901 census shows that Hugh's wife Eunice is living on her own in Maxville, Ontario. She died in 1904 in Maxville. (I have not found her burial plot). I was sent a clipping from a newspaper printed in the area that stated that Hugh Mark had been sent to Kingston Penitentiary - no mention of why. Then I found a tad of information that he died in 1907 at The Old Jail in L'Orignal. I am not at all familiar with the area so would be most grateful to solve this mystery. Thank you for help and suggestions. Joyce
