Hi: Go to www.findagrave.com, click on "Search 74 million grave records" on the right, type in only the surname Kropf, select Canada, click Search. You will find the graves of your Kropf couple. Click on Ezra's listing and you will also get his obit which contains the date of Marion's death as well. Then, click on the name of the cemetery beside Ezra's name and search Kropf within that cemetery. Other family members will come up including Marion. I understand that anyone can order a Death Certificate in Ontario.. I realize that Deaths are not released "online" before 71 years [1941?]...but I think one can order a certificate for any year? is this correct? I have actually downloaded the form, which implies that I can ask for a death cert, by surface mail and a 5 year search, these two requests being separate? I gather the entire process might cost me $15 + $15.? Has anyone experience with the 5-year search?...I believe one receives a "letter of confirmation" that a death cert does exist...does it give Date of Death? I believe I have narrowed the death of WILLIAM RICHARDSON down to sometime between 1959 and 1961. Unfortunately, there were many many "William Richardsons" in Toronto..26 listed in one Directory year!..I could include his home address at death [I believe he likely died from his residence of Castlefield ave]...but there is no space on the request form to do this and this is what might identify him. He had NO middle name, although I have his birth cert from UK and his parents' names and places of birth. Looking for your tips on this. thanks Liz of BC

In the 1881 Canada Census for Wood & Medora, Muskoka, the father of the family is entered under the incorrect spelling of "Frances" Fowler also indicating that he was a soldier. The son Francis is listed in the 1881 with the family who gives his religion as Unitarian while the other family members are Church of England. The only person missing from the 1881 Canada Census in the Fowler family is Anna M. and as she would then have been in her 20's it is likely that she married. Also in the 1881 Canada Census is the addition of "Louie Jessie Fowler" aged 8 born in Ontario as was her sister Florence. All the others were born in England. The 1901 Canada Census - www.automatedgenealogy.com - shows Francis Fowler, his wife Eliza living adjacent to their son Walter, his wife Josephine and their children - all in Wood & Medora, Simcoe county. Walter and family are also in the 1911 Canada Census. The "Fowler" surname is still be active in Muskoka and you may find assistance by contacting http://www.mpsgg.com/ Cheers!
