Hello Stella and Doreen: Many thanks for your URL's - yes, I've been there and looked at what these sites contain. Not enough to place Clabo in a lot and concession, however, Tom Mohr came to my rescue with an old topographical map showing Clabo Station. Sher
What a strange name, and it doesn't show up in the "Ontario Locator" - ahh - but good ol' Google came through! http://www.canadiangenealogy.net/ontario/victoriacounty/highways.htm Interesting site. To get a birth certificate, you will need to supply a death certificate, if she has passed on. The birth certificate cost $35.00 and a death certificate cost $15.00. You can order them on line using a credit card. Hi Marion, Further to the posting by Doreen There are 2 types -of Certificates ? one is the type that we might carry - good for proof of an event - without disclosing personal information to those with no need to know. In some Provinces - the Long form Certificate - is called the Registration of Birth will show all the personal information as required at the time. http://www.ontario.ca/en/information_bundle/birthcertificates/119279.html#long Cheers, Stella At 06:08 PM 26/03/2012, you wrote: >I have an older friend who would like to get his mother's birth >certificate. I have an older friend who would like to get his mother's birth certificate. She was born Edith Evelyn Babcock, Jan. 13, 1915, Frontenac County, Ontario. How does he get her birth certificiate? And how much does it cost? It has been years since I have gotten one, so I am sure, my info is out of date. Thanking all in advance for your help. Margaret Marion

Your best bet Lorilee is to contact Presbyterian Archives in Toronto. Their Website should give you a contact address. For that time frame doubt you will get anything further than what you have if it is about the marriage of James & Anne Good luck Ellen

Of course, you may not be aware that there is also a column in the 1852 census for "Deaths during the year 1851". In Sarah's case, this column is blank, so Stephen died in 1850 or before. -- Glen Johnson Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~wmjohnson1832 -----Original Message----- From: ontario-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ontario-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Nat Skuce Sent: March 23, 2012 10:44 PM To: ontario@rootsweb.com Subject: [ONTARIO] Historical Directories - SELLERS family Pickering County I'm researching Stephen Sellers b. "Who Do You Think You Are". Genealogy for High School is a great Idea Is it possible Brian for the students to contribute the date and name of their earliest ancestor at this meeting. It could create great dialogue at the dinner table later. My grandson recently was informed by his paternal grandmother where he is related to John Howland , he of the Mayflower. Wow! I thought every one else had intersting ancestors. You never know!
